According to the Los Angeles Times, "Israel's Supreme Court on Sunday upheld a controversial law that prevents Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip from gaining legal residency to join spouses and children who are Israeli citizens".My first question, after reading this paragraph, was, what is so controversial about this law? Palestinians and other Arabs have, for decades, been screaming that they want Israelis wiped off the face of the earth. They have been supporting and hiding terrorists whose sole purpose is to kill Jews. Israeli Arabs have become or have assisted homicide bombers. Palestinians elected Hamas, a terrorist organization, to lead them. If you lived in Israel, would you want someone, who might wish for your death, to live next door or even in the same country with you? I know that I wouldn't. Would you want to allow more potential enemies to have the right to vote in your elections in order to defeat laws that could help protect you? I know that I wouldn't.
Palestinians cheer when Israeli women and children are blown up, Egypt and Jordan have peace treaties with Israel yet their citizens help to smuggle weapons and explosives to the Palestinians while their governments turn a blind eye. Iran's leaders claim that the Holocoust never happened and that Israel should be destroyed. Arabs who side with or are friendly with Jews are beaten up or even killed. One Arab leader was cheered when he stated "If we can have enough Arabs become Israeli citizens, we can take over the government and throw out all the Jews.".
Just because most Israelis don't want to admit potential killers or their helpers into Israel, they are called "racist" by various 'human rights groups'. Could it be that these 'human rights groups' are actually the racist ones. It seems to me that all of the so called 'human rights groups' that are constantly criticizing Israel, are either very naive or they themselves are racist in their feelings about Jews. Either way, I hope that the Israelis don't listen to them.

Palestine is not a country, it is a region and was given the name Palestine by the ancient Romans. The southern portion of what is now called Palestine was called Philistia. The Romans renamed it Palestine in the second century A.D.
Prior to 2000 B.C. the entire region was called Canaan. Around 1900 B.C. the Hebrews or Israelites left Mesopotamia and settled in the land of Canaan. By 1600 B.C. the 12 tribes of Israel ruled most of Canaan. Around 900 B.C. several of the tribes of Israel split up and the northern part Of Cannon became known as Israel while the southern part became known as Judah, hence the name Jew.
Over the next several hundred years numerous groups fought with the Jews. In the second century A.D. the Romans drove the Jews out of Jerusalem and renamed the entire area Palestine.
It was not untill the seventh century A.D., over two thousand six hundred years after the Israelites settled in the region, that the Arabs invaded the area. Ever since then the Arabs have been trying to eradicate the Jews.
The foregoing is just a simple summary of the area, however as you can see, the Jews lived in the area long before Arabs even existed and long before Arabs, who migrated from the Arabian Penninsula, settled in the area.
The Jews of today only inhabit a small part of what was their origanal land and the Arabs, in their hatred of Jews, want to take even that small part away.
In my opinion, Arabs not Israelis, are the agressors. The Arabs even built many of their religious sites on top of Jewish religious sites.
