Hugo Chavez Has Shut Down Broadcast News Media Companies - 30 of Them
Saturday, August 29, 2009, 02:41 PM - Venezuela
Posted by Administrator
Hugo Chavez is the president of Venezuela and he was originally elected to that position and then re-elected several times. Unfortunately, he is acting a lot less like a president and more like a dictator each and every year. He has worked to change their constitution allowing for no term limits, thus giving him almost the status of a king.

Only Pro-Chavez Media or State Run Media

Hugo Chavez has been using regulations on the media and using a licensing program to shut them down. Of course, he only shuts down the media that reports things that might be offensive to his political domination. Therefore, most of the private media has been shut down except for those that are pro-Hugo Chavez.

The Winds of War

The president/dictator of Venezuela is now telling his troops to be prepared for war because the US has sent troops into Columbia to help with the narco-terrorist groups. Venezuela has been supporting FARC for years, a known terrorist group.

It should be obvious to anyone watching that this man is quickly becoming a ruthless dictator, and is using all the same tactics that Fidel Castro used to seize power in Cuba after he led the revolution with the farmers. Now Venezuela, or rather Hugo Chavez and his group called ALBA have interfered with the elections in Argentina, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Bolivia, and they are working to change the governments in several other nations as well.

Interestingly enough, none of this is being reported inside of Venezuela. Even bloggers have been rounded up and put in jail, and several have left the country. Please consider all this.

Why is China Not Using Her Strength to End the N Korea Nuclear Issue?
Saturday, August 29, 2009, 02:14 PM - China
Posted by Administrator
If China really wanted to help solve the nuclear arms issues of N. Korea, there is no reason that they couldn't play hardball with North Korea and get them to stop testing nuclear weapons. However, some speculate that China has not bothered to confront North Korea under such harsh terms because they realize it is a thorn in the side of the United States military and it keeps us busy.

It would be unfortunate if China hasn't put forth their effort because they like to see the United States of America spend lots of money dealing with the North Korea problem. If China is trying to get the United States bogged down in Asia, then one has to ask why the United States of America has the Chinese as their number one trading partner.

After all our trade deficit with China is hundreds of billions of dollars per year. There is no way that the Chinese could have experienced 10% year-over-year growth in that nation without the help of all of the imports that we buy from them. Ever since the US consumer has stopped buying China's exports are down by between 35-50% depending on the sector.

Many of the large international shipping companies have cargo containers stacked up in US ports, and they have taken ships out of their lines. If China is going to take advantage of their trading status with the United States in this way, then perhaps, the US consumer might consider boycotting Chinese goods. If this were to happen China's economy will not recover from the global economic recession.

Some say we can't do that because China is floating our debt in the US. While this is true, if China does not buy our treasury notes, maybe our Congress will stop spending so much money, which in reality would be good for America. Some ask if China is a friend or foe; and while it is true that China does what's best for China and not necessarily for any other nation, one could obviously see that that China is not an ally of the United States, merely a trading partner.

In this case we should treat them as a trading partner, and not an ally and kick their 6000 spies out of our nation, and clamp down on poisonous dog food, baby food, and toothpaste. In fact, anything coming from China that does not meet our standards, well we ought to have those ships completely turned around and sail back home to their mainland.

At some point China needs to understand that we are a Western civilization and we operate on a win-win scenario. Until China understands that, we need a timeout in our trade. Please consider all this.

Not long ago, I mentioned this to Guang Wu, the author of a new book; "China: Has the Last Opportunity Passed by!?" And he indicated that a united Korea was not in China's best interests, and so, they should not be doing anything to help that along. Interesting.

Scenes of Iranian Radical Religious Police on Motorcycles With Baton Chasing Down Citizens
Saturday, June 20, 2009, 10:01 PM - Iran
Posted by Administrator
After the Iranian Elections, folks rioted and called the elections a sham, a facade, and the government folks running them corrupt. The people threw stones, bottles, and lit things on fire. The Iranian Government responded with police on motorcycles with batons, swinging at protestors as they rode by. The next day as the group protests raged on, police or military guard opened fire on them, actually shooting at the crowd, and unfortunately killing people.

If I had not witnessed those scenes with my own eyes, I would have not believed it were possible in this day and age. It reminded me of the Attila the Hun raiders on horses with swords raiding villages, then raping and pillaging. It was a very pathetic spectacle, especially for a nation that prides itself on being the once great Persian Empire. One has to ask if Iran has learned anything about common decency, democracy, or what the present period is all about?

The Iranian Government tried to play down the uprising in the World Media, calling it incidentally, but the pictures show otherwise, 10s of 1,000s of people in the streets protesting is not a little event. And for everyone there, there are 20 or more people who are also very angry, but too timid or afraid to speak out for fear of retribution from a government they obviously no longer trust.

Currently, Iran's economy is in shambles, their leader, who was supposedly re-elected although that seems to be slightly in dispute right now is taking a very hard line on the world stage right now. This can only mean one thing; more of the same problems, and an escalation of dangers from proxy terrorists fulfilling the wishes of their leadership. Please think on this.

Former Democrat President Jimmy Carter Meets With Bolivia's Evo Morales - Typical!
Saturday, May 9, 2009, 04:06 AM - International - Misc
Posted by Administrator
President Obama has not met personally with Evo Morales of Bolivia and there is a bit of animosity between the two countries now ever since Bolivia's President kicked out our ambassador, accused us of spying and told us they did not want our assistance in stopping the drug smugglers there. After all, Bolivia is trying to get the coca leaf, used to make cocaine by crushing it into white powder, off the list of drugs by the international community anyway. The Bolivian Indians chew on the coca leaf and have for endless generations.

Of course, this is not the only US or World concern with Bolivia, as the nation has been nationalizing foreign business operations in their country, taking them over and kicking out the companies that made deals and invested heavily in that nation previously. Oh, and there is another challenge afoot, and that is the closeness and ties that Bolivia is having with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez lately. As you know he's been very vocal about the United States being evil.

All this makes it very interesting that Former Democrat President Jimmy Carter is meeting with Bolivia's Evo Morales. Jimmy Carter has also met with Hamas, Hezbollah and other leaders that are not on the United States' best friend list shall we say?

So, one has to ask if Jimmy Carter has volunteered to go meet with him, was asked to by our President or if the State Department is working to do some back-door negotiations and re-open communications with Bolivia. Critics of the former president are upset as his latest move to go and meet yet another problematic leader. Think on this.
