Stress bans us from living an enjoyable life. It creeps up on our mind through our own deeds which are continuously becoming more and more stressful and just somehow affects us from acting wisely in difficult situations. You can and you should find ways to let off some steam from your mind in a constructive way. One of these constructive methods is to laugh it out. In this article I have shared some of the ideas that can help you in relieving stress by humor. Today it is a known fact that humor is a stress reliever that does miracles and helps you to improve your overall physical and mental health.

These humorous steps, if you follow can provide you with a peaceful and calm mind. These are just a guide that you should follow with utmost sincerity.

First, try to change your attitude to a humorous one, i.e. speaking of small and healthy jokes among your friends while at work or at home is found to be very productive. This not only relieves you but also takes off your mind from your tensions for small moments.

One of the other methods that you can try is, try to find happiness in even small parts of your daily life. Now this may look easy and like wasting your time on small things, but when you follow this and find happiness in even small things, half of your time will be spent on finding these moments and the rest on laughing on them so that stress won't have any time to enter your mind.

The next step is now a days getting popular which is, to laugh every morning you get up, may it be for no reason. Just laugh your heart out as loudly as you can. No need for me to tell how easily it brings humor to your life but to just site an example I am sure reading the above lines and assuming yourself in that situation must have given you a smile.

What you can also do is follow this: "A man is known by the company he keeps". What I mean to say is you should spend more of your time with people who like to bring humor in their talks so that your character will also be shaped accordingly.

Now all the above are some of the important points that you can do to relieve yourself of stress but the most important thing is to laugh.

Using Laughter to Reduce Stress

If you had to find a single best, one-size-fits-all solution to reduce stress, it has to be laughter. Laughter is the purest form of human expression that transcends all ages, castes, creeds, religions and other differences.

Time and again, research has shown that laughter is the best medicine. It lowers your blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, and boosts your immune system. These, as you might know, are characteristics of a stress free body. Laughter is a natural killer of stress because it loosens the body and makes you feel carefree.

The most important thing that laughter does to you is causing movement. It makes you shake, move and giggle. This helps relax the body and releases endorphins - the natural painkillers in the body. Combine this with the greater intake and use of oxygen in the body and you have the perfect recipe for relaxation and stress reduction.

Stress and anxiety can easily be cured through laughter. And you don't even have to laugh loudly, even a smile works wonders. When you get up in the morning, make it a habit to smile a big grin that brighten ups your face. Think of nothing, just smile. Now, get out of your bed and start your day. You'll never feel stressed throughout the day.

People often ask how to relieve stress and look for some magic pill that can help cure them. We often overlook the magic pill that's in use since we were born - laughter. Laughter will not only help you manage stress, it will make you a happy and gleeful person overall - someone people would love to hang out with.

I usually read up a joke book and laugh at even the stupidest joke inside it just to get my mind off stress. You may rent some comedy movies (there's a whole plethora of them) or join a laughter club or even start one yourself. You can visit a comic show or just hang out with friends cracking jokes. The key is to take a break from the normal thought processes of the brain and find inner peace.

So laugh - louder and more often because it will make you feel light, alive and healthy. And you'll not even know where the stress went all of a sudden. Make it a point to laugh at least three times daily until it takes the form of a habit. Remember, the world's only free medicine is laughter so use it plenty.

Laughter Is Good For What Ails You.

When I was a kid I used to read Readers Digest and one section I always think of was "Laughter is the best medicine". As I have gotten older I have come to realize that laughter may not be the best medicine but it sure is good medicine for what ails you. It's hard to be sad, depressed, stressed out or anxious when you are laughing. Laughter can sometimes even make you forget about physical pain.

Laughter may not actually cure stress, depression, anxiousness, sadness or pain but it can sure help decrease stress, lighten depression, ease anxiety, mitigate pain and lessen sadness. Many medical researchers say that people who laugh often live longer lives.

Laughing is not hard, in fact it's easy. Read some jokes, learn and tell some jokes, watch some comedy acts on television, go to a comedy club or have a friend tell you some jokes. Eventually you'll find some jokes, humor or satirical stories that will appeal to you and before you know it you will find yourself laughing.

When my wife gets depressed I read some jokes, learn them and then retell them to her. Pretty soon her mood starts to lighten and her depression either lessens or goes away all together. When I get sad or frustrated I start reading jokes and quickly I start to feel that whatever is making me sad or frustrated isn't so bad and my mood improves immensely.

Go ahead, read or listen to some jokes and turn on the laughter. You'll be surprised how much better you will feel.

Humor

Humor is a great stress reliever and just laughing out loud can make you feel more relaxed and happier. Any kind of humor will do and make you feel better. Jokes, comedies, caricatures, seeing a comedian, or just going out for dinner with funny friends is a great way to increase your mental health and to reduce stress. You might not believe it at first, but give it a try and you will see that when you laugh you feel much better!

Exercise

Exercise is a wonderful way to relieve stress and improve your mental health as well. When you are stressed it can be very difficult to live life, but exercise can help. Find a block of time, perhaps half an hour or more, and start walking, running, taking an aerobics class, or engaging in any form of exercise you enjoy. Exercise will stimulate endorphins, which will help erase your stress and make you feel better. So, whatever exercise you can muster get out and do it. You will find that you feel much better and will feel the stress just melting away.

Nutrition

Another important way to get stress relief is to eat properly. When you have good nutrition your body will be well prepared to handle extra stress. When you don’t eat well then your body gets run down quicker and you will find yourself at risk for illness. So do your very best to eat vegetables, lean meats, and drink plenty of water each day. When you have a healthy body then you will be able to combat stress.

These are just a few tips that will help you relieve your stress and start enjoying life again. Even if you don’t believe they will work just give them a try. You will find that in a week or two you will start feeling significantly better and will be better able to handle your stress.
